FACULTY OF LAW UNIVERSITY OF BELGRADE is announcing the Call for the Spring School/Pilot Master– Law and Gender, which will be held from Wednesday April 19th to Wednesday May 3rd, 2023.
SPRING SCHOOL LAWGEM Pilot Master Law and Gender AGENDA (PDF)
Serbian and international students of undergraduate, MA and PhD level of studies are invited to register for this Spring School. Registration of students will last from March 23rd to April 14th, 2023. All selected candidates will be informed by April 15th 2023. All students interested in applying for the Spring School should submit short CV within the registration form.

Students will receive LAWGEM Certificate for the Spring School/Pilot LAWGEM, under the condition of a regular attendance. All lectures will be recorded and uploaded at the LAWGEM Life Long Learning Platform (http://lllp-lawgem.ius.bg.ac.rs). Live classes will be held at the University of Belgrade Faculty of Law. The lunch buffet will be provided for each working day.
BACKGROUND EXPLANATION:
This Spring School will be based on the recently completed European Commission`s Grant for the Erasmus Plus Strategic Partnership in Higher Education Project, called: “New Quality in Education for Gender Equality – Strategic Partnership for the Development of Master` s Study program LAW AND GENDER – LAWGEM”. The aim of the LAWGEM project was to develop the Curriculum of legal studies reconsidered and restructured from gender equality perspective. The Curriculum was accompanied with the textbook Gender Competent Legal Knowledge, published by Springer. The coordinator of the mentioned project was University of Belgrade Faculty of Law, and the consortium universities were LUMSA U, Palermo, Italy, Cadiz U, Spain, Saarland U, Germany and Orebro U, Sweden. This master’s study program has been currently in the accreditation procedure, and is planned to be conducted at the Faculty of Law University of Belgrade after completing the accreditation. The Spring School will serve as a kind of the pilot practicing of the future master`s study program Law and Gender.
The Spring School will cover all courses contained in the mentioned Curriculum, and the reading materials will consist of the publications created within the LAWGEM project.
STRUCTURE OF THE SPRING SCHOOL:
Each student will attend four mandatory courses and two mandatory practical workshops, and will choose five optional courses. Each course consists of three lectures. After the third lecture, a discussion workshop will be facilitated, with discussion points announced in advance.
There is the list of 11 optional courses and each student will choose five courses from the list. (If interested, students can attend more than five optional courses, which will be reflected in the School’s certificate).
Readers with relevant papers from the Textbook Gender Competent Legal Knowledge, from Springer series’ Gender Perspectives in Law books, PPPs and other resources will be delivered in advance to successfully selected students.
