Uroš NOVAKOVIĆ (m) is an Assistant Professor of Family law at the University of Belgrade Faculty of Law. He holds a PhD in Family Law (one part of his PhD thesis, “Right to respect for family life”, refers to specific problems of gender equality and the so called “gender war”), and an LL.M degree (“Domestic Violence in Legal Systems of States of the Former SFRY”) obtained at same Faculty. He teaches a number of courses at various levels of studies (undergraduate, master and doctoral studies): Family Law, Law of Cooperatives and Non-Profit Organizations, Legal Clinic for Family Law, New and Reformed Institutes of Family Law, Mediation, Domestic Violence. Uroš Novaković took part in a number of domestic and international projects. He has been engaged as an expert, member of working-groups and consultant by a number of organizations (UNICEF, Government of the Republic of Serbia, Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Ministry of Labour and Social Policy of the Republic of Serbia, Commisioner for the Protection of Equality Republic of Serbia and the Ombudsman of Serbia). Within his research he deals with different issues of Family law, in particular, human rights, rights of the child, gender equality, equality of minority groups (people with disabilities, people with poverty problems). He is currently participating in two projects: “Perspectives of Implementation of European Standards in the Serbian Legal System”  and “Identity transformation of Serbia”.
