SUMMARY:UniSAFE
DESCRIPTION:UniSAFE, a three-year EU-funded research project was kicked off on 8 and 9 February 2021. The goal of this project, in witch University of Belgrade is community partner, is to produce in-depth knowledge on gender-based violence and sexual harassment in research performing organisations, and to translate this research into operational tools for higher education and research organisations.\nOver the next three years, research and outreach activities will be led across Europe, targeting researchers, stakeholders, and policymakers. The project will analyse the mechanisms of GBV – its social determinants, antecedents, and consequences – at three different levels, using a holistic research model:\n\nPrevalence and impacts of GBV will be analysed via data gathered by a survey among 45 RPOs (micro level).\nOrganisational responses and infrastructure will be investigated via data gathered by in-depth case studies, interviews, and a strategic mapping of research organisations in 15 member states (meso level).\nLegal and policy frameworks will be examined through extensive mapping by national experts in 27 European states and 3 associated states (macro level).\n\nThis multi-field research design will provide in-depth knowledge of existing problems, current and future priorities and will result in an operational toolkit and recommendations to reduce gender- based violence in the European academic and research area.\nUniSAFE’s consortium partners are:\n\nEuropean Science Foundation, France, https://www.esf.org (coordinator)\nÖrebro University, Sweden, https://www.oru.se/english/\nGESIS – Leibniz Institute for the Social Sciences, Germany, https://www.gesis.org/en/home\nYellow Window, Belgium, https://yellowwindow.eu/\nUniversidad Complutense de Madrid, Spain, https://www.ucm.es\nInstitute of Sociology of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, https://www.soc.cas.cz/en\nLithuanian Centre for Social Sciences, Lithuania, https://www.lstc.lt/en/mainpage/\nJagiellonian University, Poland, https://en.uj.edu.pl/en_GB/start/\nOxford Brookes University, UK, https://www.brookes.ac.uk\n\nAt the moment, 47  universities and research organisations are partners on this project. One of them is University of Belgrade, https://www.bg.ac.rs;  https://www.bg.ac.rs/en\nThe project’s findings will be translated into concrete policy recommendations, tailored tools and capacity-building activities to empower stakeholders to reduce gender-based violence in higher education and research organizations.\nContact persons:\n\nProf. Dr. Dragica Vujadinović, Project coordinator, dragicav@ius.bg.ac.rs\nAssist.
